[Hasegawa] McDonnell Douglas F/A-18C Hornet au 1/48 par Nicolas

Aujourd’hui je vous présente un F/A-18C de la marque Hasegawa au 1/48.

Today, I am showing you my Hasegawa F/A-18C in 1/48 scale.

 J’ai re-découvert dans mon stock cet avion que j’avais commencé à monter il y a fort longtemps. Après une phase de remise en condition bien nécessaire, j’ai pu redémarré le montage.

I have re-discovered this kit in my stock which I had started long ago ! After a well-deserved tidying phase, I could re-start its asembly.

Au chapitre des ajouts / améliorations :

-        Découpage des ailes pour installer le kit Wolfpack

-        Installation de caches en papier aluminium pour les entrées d’air et les tuyères

-        Création des zones antidérapantes autour des apex à l’aide du produit « Anti Slip » Mig (merci Stéphan)

-        Ajout du pod de désignation laser et des AIM-9 Sidewinder d’Eduard Brassin

 Among the add-ons / improvements

-        Cutting of the wings to install the Wolfpack kit

-        Installation of covers for air intakes and exhausts made of aluminum foil

-        Creation of the anti-slip zones on the apex using the anti-slip paste from Mig (Thanks Stéphan!)

-        Addition of the laser pod and AIM-9 from Eduard Brassin line.

Au chapitre des difficultés rencontrées :

-        Les bidons dont les 2 parties joignent très mal (une tradition chez Hasegawa J)

-        Les trains en métal blanc qui ne sont pas aisés à mettre à niveau (peut être ma faute ?)

 Some difficulties I have met:

-        Adjustment of the 2 parts of the external fuel tanks (an Hasegawa tradition J)

-        White metal main landing gears not easy to adjust (maybe y mistake?)

 

J’ai utilisé pour la décoration l’excellente planche Flying Leathernecks FL48022 et plus particulièrement la décoration du « Commanding Officer » de l’escadron des Marines VMFA-122 « Werewolves » avec une dérive colorée qui égaye un peu le camouflage gris. Cet avion a été déployé pendant l’opération Iraqi Freedom en 2008 sur la base d’Al Asad.

Cette planche propose entres autre un pochoir pour le fond blanc du decal du « Werewolf ».

J’ai fait je l’avoue quelques impasses sur des détails et la maquette finale n’est pas tout à fait représentative du réel.

Les charges AGM-65 et GBU-12 ont été entièrement peints à l’aérographe (y compris les bandes)

 

I have applied the decals from the excellent Flying Leathernecks FL48022and more particularly those for the Commanding Officer of the Marines squadron VMFA-122 “Werewolves” withcolorful fins, which brightens a bit the grey camo. This plane was deployed on the Al Asad air base in 2008 during the Iraqi Freedom operation.

The decals sheet also includes some vinyl masks to paint the white background for the Werewolf decal.

I must confess that I have not improved certain details and at the end, the kit is not 100% representative from the real aircraft.

AGM-65 Maverick and GBU-12 bombs were entirely airbrush painted, including the color bands.

Au final je ne suis pas trop mécontent du résultat

At the end, knowing the condition of the kit when I re-discover it, I am quite happy of the result….
